Yoga...it does a body good!!

With the holiday season almost over, I not only feel very blessed to have had such quality time spent with family and friends, but also look forward to getting back into my regular routine.  I have been sadly neglecting my physical yoga practice for several days now.  Oh, don't get me wrong.  I can't go through a day without NOT doing some sort of stretching for my back, neck and shoulders!  As I hiked through Umstead Park this morning, even picking up my pace to a slow jog to catch up with others, my joints were screaming at me!  "How dare you neglect us for days and expect us to perform for you without proper care!"  I felt like the Tin Man who needed a good oiling.  This was a gentle reminder for me to make the time each day to honor my body and it's needs.  Afterall, if I can't take good care of myself, then not only will I not be a good role model, but not a very good caretaker as well!  The New Year is a wonderful time to make changes in our lifestyle.  For resolutions and new beginnings.  I wish you all the best for a blessed 2011!
